We are now seeking an exceptional Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing to join our award-winning commercial team.
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this is a key role within the estate, ideally suited to an ambitious, commercially driven hospitality professional who thrives in a fast paced luxury environment. The successful candidate will play an integral role in managing the day to day operations of the Sales & Marketing office, supporting strategic business development initiatives, driving revenue growth and enhancing the positioning of Mount Juliet Estate both domestically and internationally.

The Role
As Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing, you will support the development and execution of the estate’s commercial strategy across all business segments including leisure, corporate, MICE, golf, weddings and international markets.
You will oversee the efficient daily management of the Sales & Marketing office, ensuring exceptional standards in administration, client engagement, reporting, communication and commercial coordination. Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Revenue Team, General Manager and operational departments, you will help drive market share, revenue performance and guest satisfaction.
This role requires a highly organised and proactive leader with strong relationship-building skills, commercial acumen and a passion for luxury hospitality.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Sales Leadership
- Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in delivering the estate’s overall commercial strategy and annual revenue objectives.
- Assist in identifying and securing new business opportunities across all market segments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, travel partners, agencies, tour operators, event planners and key stakeholders.
- Represent Mount Juliet Estate and Marriott Autograph Collection at trade shows, networking events, client events and industry showcases.
- Support sales activities including client meetings, presentations, contract negotiations, site inspections and familiarisation trips.
- Drive proactive sales initiatives to increase market penetration and brand visibility.
Sales Office Management
- Oversee the daily operations and administration of the Sales & Marketing office to ensure seamless efficiency and professionalism.
- Ensure all sales enquiries, proposals, contracts and follow-up activities are managed effectively and within agreed timelines.
- Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting, database management and CRM administration.
- Monitor office workflows and departmental coordination to ensure exceptional client service standards.
- Act as a key point of contact in the absence of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
Marketing & Brand Support
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team on campaign execution, promotional initiatives, partnerships and seasonal activity.
- Support the management of the estate's luxury brand positioning across all digital and traditional channels.
- Assist with content planning, website updates, social media coordination and collateral development.
- Support initiatives aligned with Marriott brand standards and global commercial opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and guest insights to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Revenue & Performance
- Work collaboratively with the Revenue team to support pricing strategies, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Prepare weekly and monthly commercial reports, sales activity updates and market intelligence for senior management.
- Analyse business trends and contribute ideas that support profitability and long-term commercial success.
Team Collaboration & Development
- Support, motivate and mentor members of the Sales & Marketing team.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across all departments within the resort.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, innovation, accountability and exceptional guest experience.
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a senior sales or commercial hospitality role, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Experience working within Marriott or an international hotel brand is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of luxury hospitality, corporate sales, MICE, leisure and international markets.
- Proven ability to build relationships, drive revenue and deliver commercial results.
- Excellent organisational, administrative and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Experience with CRM systems, reporting tools and hotel sales platforms.
- Highly motivated, professional, and commercially focused with a hands-on approach.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
