We are looking to recruit an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Carlow. The successful candidate will provide automation support across DeltaV, Siemens S7 PLC and OEM automation systems within a regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong automation troubleshooting experience, together with experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and a good understanding of cGMP requirements.

Responsibilities
Automation Support
- Assist with field testing for network connectivity, instrumentation devices and software functionality.
- Diagnose automation issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
- Liaise with vendors to resolve issues relating to automation equipment.
- Complete daily system backup checks where required.
- Complete scheduled monthly, two-monthly and yearly checks on OEM and DeltaV equipment.
- Complete recipe downloads and updates for OEM and DeltaV systems.
- Review SDLC documentation during investigations, including Functional Specifications, Design Specifications and Code Reviews.
- Comply with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements in the performance of day-to-day activities.
Required Skills & Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Automation Engineering role.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- experience with Siemens PLCs (S7), DeltaV and/or Historian systems.
- Siemens S7 PLC and/or DeltaV experience is essential.
- Experience troubleshooting OEM and DeltaV systems.
- Familiarity with networking and IT.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Fluent English, both written and verbal.
