Business Development Manager
Location -West of Ireland
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation. This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth across a broad customer base.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in business development, account management, and client relationship building. They will be comfortable managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting through to negotiation, closing deals, and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and site visits.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial enquiry to project completion.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activity within CRM systems.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to management.
- Ensure excellent customer service and ongoing account development to maximise repeat business.
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related commercial role.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Experience generating leads and converting opportunities into revenue.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
- Experience managing multiple projects and client requirements simultaneously.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable
- Experience working within construction, engineering, utilities, manufacturing, or technical sales environments.
- Experience preparing tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals.
- Strong project coordination or project management experience.
- Third-level qualification in Business, Economics, Geography, Engineering, or a related discipline.
