Job Description

Posted on: July 31, 2026

Location: Waterford, Ireland About The Job Our Team For more than 20 years, Sanofi Waterford has grown and diversified to serve patients around the world. Today, nearly 800 people work together across a state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical and medical device campus — recognised through multiple local and national awards. You will join the Pre-Filled Syringe Maintenance team, a highly integrated and collaborative group supporting the manufacture of commercial biologic medicines (monoclonal antibodies) delivered in pre-filled syringes. The team plays a hands-on role in keeping cutting-edge sterile manufacturing equipment running at its best, while also supporting the introduction of new products and technologies. It's a team where your technical expertise directly contributes to medicines reaching patients who need them. Team members also benefit from access to an onsite gym and medical centre, reflecting Sanofi Waterford's strong commitment to health and wellbeing. Main responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance tasks on process and facilities equipment to ensure reliable production output, in line with quality, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
  • Record and manage data in the computerised maintenance management system, including scheduling and tracking of planned maintenance activities
  • Register new equipment assets and compile the data needed to build preventative maintenance programmes for new equipment
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers to define maintenance schedules, and manage the ordering and receipt of spare parts
  • Support equipment acceptance testing (both at the supplier's site and on-site) and all qualification activities required before equipment is used in production
  • Carry out all tasks in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), GMP requirements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Identify and report safety concerns promptly, and conduct all maintenance work in a safe and compliant manner
  • Communicate clearly and accurately on equipment status, planned maintenance, repairs, and any significant downtime events
  • Provide cross-team support to facilities and manufacturing maintenance teams when needed
  • Support the training of colleagues on equipment operation, maintenance tasks, setup procedures, and safety awareness

About You We want to hear from people who bring the right mix of technical ability, curiosity, and collaborative spirit. We've kept this list focused — if you meet most of these criteria, we encourage you to apply.

  • Experience: Previous experience working as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, ideally within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or a similarly regulated industry
  • Soft skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing things right first time
  • Clear and proactive communicator — comfortable escalating issues and sharing updates across teams
  • Collaborative team player who is also able to work independently on shift
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, particularly when responding to unplanned equipment issues
  • Technical skills:
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance of industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems
  • Understanding of GMP, safety, and compliance requirements in a regulated manufacturing setting
  • Education: A trade qualification (Junior and/or Senior Trades Certificate) or equivalent technical qualification is desirable; equivalent hands-on experience will equally be considered
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
