Financial Control Analyst – Contract (11 Months+)
📍 Limerick (3 days onsite)
💰 Up to €22/hour PAYE (€35–40K equivalent)
🏦 Global Custodian Bank
A leading global custodian bank is seeking a Financial Control Analyst to join its Functional Control team on an initial 11-month contract, with strong potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a multi-entity, multi-currency financial services environment, working across Europe with interaction across North America and APAC. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and controls across complex banking operations.
This role sits at the intersection of business and finance, acting as a key control function to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data throughout the month. The team actively monitors activity across areas such as FX and lending, investigating exceptions and resolving discrepancies—particularly within more complex EMEA entities. It offers excellent visibility across operations, providing a strong understanding of how a global custodian bank functions end-to-end.
The team operates across Limerick and Manila, offering strong collaboration, structured training, and ongoing support. Candidates will gain exposure to multiple internal systems and processes, particularly around month-end, reconciliations, and SOX controls. Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros) are essential, and experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards would be highly beneficial. Flexibility around month-end is important, with limited time off typically expected during the first 10 days of each month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and financial control activities
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations in line with corporate policies
- Support the month-end close, including analytics and variance/trend analysis
- Ensure accurate recording of banking activity within the General Ledger
- Act as a key link between the front, middle, back office, and Finance teams
- Investigate and resolve issues impacting financial and regulatory reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements and enhanced controls
- Collaborate with global teams on systems, product changes, and testing initiatives
- Respond to internal queries from stakeholders and Head Office promptly
Requirements:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA preferred)
- Experience in a financial services or banking environment (custody, treasury, FX advantageous)
- Strong understanding of financial control, accounting, and reporting processes
- Familiarity with US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
Why Apply?
- Join a globally recognised financial institution
- Gain exposure to international finance operations
- Hybrid working model with strong team collaboration
- Opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract
