We have an opportunity in a fast-growing SaaS company delivering a cloud-based platform that provides organisations with real-time operational and financial insight. The product is live, revenue-generating, used internationally, and built with AI-driven capabilities at its core. This is a product-led, founder-backed environment where engineering decisions move quickly into production. No slow corporate release cycles, the work you do is visible to customers almost immediately.

The Opportunity

This is more than a typical Senior Engineer role. You’ll join as a hands-on technical leader with architectural ownership, working directly with the CTO (Founder) and Product leadership. You’ll help lead and mentor a small Ruby on Rails team (including offshore engineers), with a clear and structured pathway into Engineering Management.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, build, and scale core platform services using Ruby on Rails
• Own performance, scalability, and reliability in production
• Help lead and mentor a small RoR team
• Drive architecture decisions alongside the CTO
• Set technical standards and promote best practices
• Collaborate closely with founders and product leadership
• Translate product ideas — including AI-driven features — into shipped solutions
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering processes as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7+ years hands-on Ruby on Rails
• Strong experience building scalable production systems
• Architecture and system design capability
• Experience in startup or scale-up environments
• Proven ability to mentor or lead engineers
• Strong communicator, comfortable working directly with founders
• A genuine ambition to step into Engineering Management

Nice to have:

• React Native / mobile experience
• AI feature development experience
• SaaS background
