Financial Accountant – Cork City

Following Ethos Care’s recent acquisition of Sonas Nursing Homes, we are expanding our team and are now looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join our Finance function in Cork. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing network of nursing homes and help ensure financial excellence across our operations.

About the Role

The Financial Accountant will manage financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and analysis, working closely with the Head of Finance to support strategic decision-making and improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Oversee the general ledger and month-end/year-end processes.
• Ensure compliance with Irish accounting standards, tax laws, and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA qualified with 3+ years’ accounting/finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage preferred; ERP systems acceptable).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
