To start the process, click the Apply button below to Login/Register. Key Responsibilities Key Duties And Responsibilities Technical Work: Non-Invasive Vascular Investigations including:
- Ankle brachial and toe pressure studies including exercise testing
- Photoplethysmography
- Carotid ultrasound duplex
- Upper and lower limb venous and arterial duplex
- Intra-operative duplex scanning
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening and surveillance
- Pre and post EVAR duplex
- Pre and post AV fistula formation duplex
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Vascular Consultants, (director of the Non—Invasive Vascular Laboratory), and the Chief 2 Vascular Physiologist, the Vascular Physiologist is responsible for:
- Recording of patient’s case histories.
- Carrying out tests order by the Medical Staff.
- The calculation and reporting on results.
- Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of research projects under the direction of the Consultant who has overall responsibility.
- Undertaking care and maintenance of all equipment in the Vascular Department.
- Transfer of patient data and results onto computer.
- Attendance at weekly vascular MDT is mandatory.
General:
- To attend at such times and places as may be fixed by the Hospital and to remain in attendance there as long as their services are required.
- To carry out the duties of a Basic Grade Vascular Physiologist in the hospital and at such other locations as may be required by the Director of Scheduled Care.
- To keep such records appropriate to their office as they may be required by the Hospital.
- To perform such other duties appropriate to the office as may from time to time be assigned by the Hospital.
- The Vascular Physiologist should be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of vascular patients. A complete understanding of all such procedures and an ability to make accurate measurements is essential.
