Role Overview
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
What you will be doing?
- Prepare and process weekly payroll for over 1,300 employees
- Assist with monthly payroll and reporting
- Download and import timesheets from the time and attendance system
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new starters, leavers, and employee changes
- Calculate pay, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with tax, social insurance, pension, and employment legislation
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring full compliance and confidentiality.
- Respond professionally to employee and stakeholder queries through the central Payroll email.
- Carry out validation checks to ensure payroll accuracy
- Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data
- Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reports
- Assist in maintaining and improving payroll processes and systems
- Identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and processes.
- Minimum of 2 years payroll experience in a similar role.
- IPASS qualification or equivalent required
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting systems along with strong Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Sage, Coins, time & attendance system)
- Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to payroll queries.
