The Global Fleet Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of Global Fleet Specialists who oversee fleet operations across multiple regions. This role ensures the efficient operation of the team, sets priorities, and coaches team members to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service. The company is doubling its global fleet, which creates a strong need to optimize operations while managing the increased complexity that comes with this expansion. The role will also include leading a team of roughly 3 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise a team of Global Fleet Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and input on performance evaluations and development plans.
- Set priorities and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion of objectives.
Operational Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day fleet operations through the team, ensuring compliance with global and regional policies.
- Monitor processes and systems for efficiency and adherence to company and industry standards.
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Resolve routine operational issues and make decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
- Escalate complex issues to management as needed.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Gain cooperation of team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Regularly interact with subordinates, customers, and managers at the same level or one level up.
Process Improvement:
- Generate ideas for adaptive plans and solutions to address day-to-day operational challenges.
- Recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Customer Focus & Quality:
- Ensure service agreements and standards are fulfilled.
- Maintain customer relationships and resolve simple disputes without damaging relationships.
Qualifications:Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience as an individual contributor in fleet management before transitioning to a supervisory role.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to coach and develop team members effectively.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with fleet management systems and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.
