The Role & What You Will Be Doing The purpose of this role is to manage the EHS agenda for the Viatris Galway Manufacturing Sites with the aim of delivering our EHS vision - We believe in doing What’s Right so our people go home safe every day and our environment is fully protected. The role involves the development, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive EHS Programs which ensure compliance with internal and external EHS requirements. Key to success in the role is the ability to influence and engage at all levels to deliver further advancement of our EHS Cultural Maturity. Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Project Manager role will make an impact:

  • Ensure that site is operating in accordance with current legislation, particularly the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and General Applications Regulations, 2007.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are in place, guaranteeing compliance and adequate management of risk.
  • Contribute and promote a safe platform and environment to support a safer workplace.
  • Ensure company meets its obligations under the Waste Management Act 1996.
  • Problem solving mindset – Highlighting all pertinent EHS concerns and simultaneously propose suitable means to addressing them.
  • Participate and Lead Incident Investigations.
  • Coordinate all staff training relating to EHS as appropriate.
  • Coordinate EHS internal audit programs.
  • Maintain and generate EHS Metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and maintain site Risk Assessments program in accordance with regulatory and Viatris requirements. Support identification and implementation of risk reduction measures.
  • Support development and implementation of the site Industrial Hygiene Program.
  • Support Emergency Response Plan on site.
  • Monitor and Manage safety-related documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, policies, etc.
  • Monitor, review and develop incident and/ Safety Observation Reporting systems.

About Your Skills & Experience For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is required for this role, preferably Level 8. Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong logical and clear thinking individual.
  • Maturity and professionalism to deal with senior colleagues in a factual and cordial manner and capable of writing concise and clear report commentary.
  • Team player who fosters good will, respect and great team environment.
  • Continuous improvement proven skills desirable.
  • Emergency response system implementation and management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with other departments and communicate known concepts., must also present to group departments.
  • Manual Handling Instructor’s Qualification desirable.
