We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Site Engineer to join our team on civil engineering projects across the Cork region. This role is ideal for candidates who have completed a placement year and are looking to build on their practical experience—particularly those who have already gained exposure to setting out and site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily site operations alongside the Project Manager and senior engineers.
  • Carry out setting out using Total Station and GPS equipment (experience from placement year welcomed).
  • Assist with site surveys and help compile As-Built information for valuations and safety files.
  • Maintain accurate site records including diaries, photos, and allocation sheets.
  • Help review construction drawings and raise RFIs under guidance from senior staff.
  • Follow company HSEQ procedures and support quality inspections.
  • Assist in supervising subcontractors and communicating clear instructions.
  • Support the implementation of traffic management plans on site.

Qualifications & Training

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Completion of a placement year in a civil engineering environment.
  • Professional membership (e.g., Engineers Ireland) is an advantage but not required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Practical setting-out experience gained during a placement or internship.
  • Exposure to civil works such as pipelines or reinforced concrete (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Good organisational and problem‑solving abilities.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on challenging civil engineering projects in Cork.
  • Build on your placement experience with hands-on technical development.
  • Receive mentorship and support from experienced engineers.
  • Join a company committed to health, safety, and quality excellence.
