Accounts Payable Assistant

ACCPRO has partnered with a government body to recruit for an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within public sector and further develop your experience in AP. This is a contract role up to February 2027 with scope to extend. Salary c. €25-35k. Fully onsite in Galway.Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
• Reconcile supplier statements and maintain supplier accounts.
• Assist with weekly payment runs and purchase order processing.
• Process credit card transactions and complete reconciliations.
• Apply PSWT and RCT where required.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and support the wider finance team.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year's experience in a busy Accounts Payable environment.
• Experience using ERP/finance systems (Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central advantageous).
• Knowledge of PSWT, RCT and prompt payment requirements is desirable.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
• Finance or Accounting qualification preferred.
• Public sector experience would be an advantage.
