Arcadis are a seeking a Construction Supervisor for an Oil & Gas assignment located in Whitegate, Cork. This is initially a 12 month contract with high potential of extension.Responsibilities:
- Ensure all site works are managed and overseen effectively, addressing issues with the Construction Manager and Safety Lead.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with Project HSE plans and implement performance improvements in health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct and lead site safety audits with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards and promoting a culture of safety.
- Oversee daily resource allocation and enforce effective housekeeping practices across the site.
- Participate in the development, drafting, logic loading, and tracking of construction schedules to ensure performance aligns with approved timelines.
- Provide input and attend daily construction coordination meetings to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve design queries effectively.
- Organize regular meetings with contractors to discuss and document contract-related issues, ensuring strong contractor relationships and communication.
- Maintain a comprehensive daily log of site activities, communications, and progress to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Review and familiarize with contract drawings, scope of work, specifications, and man-hour estimates to ensure quality control and management.
- Coordinate and manage contractor supervisory staff, promoting strong documentation, relationships, and adherence to contract agreements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, with relevant training and education in construction and project management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within civil construction, with a strong understanding of scopes and general experience in refining or similar environments.
- Proven experience in cost management, quality control, and schedule development/tracking, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge and experience working in ATEX environments and familiarity with HSE regulations and practices in construction.
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland and have excellent organizational, communication, and contractor management skills.
