Transport Major Projects Manager_Cork (Hybrid Working Available)_The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Transport Major Projects Manager to join a growing transportation team delivering some of Ireland's most significant infrastructure projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in the planning, design, and delivery of major transport schemes. You will play a key leadership role across road, rail, public transport, active travel, and public realm projects while contributing to business growth and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects throughout Ireland.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers and project staff.
• Oversee project delivery from feasibility and preliminary design through to construction and handover.
• Lead and support statutory approval processes, including EIAR and CPO projects.
• Prepare and administer construction contracts, including NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts.
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycles.
• Lead bid submissions, proposals, and business development activities.
• Support construction supervision and contract administration activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

RequirementsEssential

• Chartered Engineer status.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering transport infrastructure projects within Ireland.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Road and highway schemes
• Rail and public transport projects
• Active travel and public realm projects
• Irish transport planning and design standards
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience with NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts.
• Experience in design and build project delivery.
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
• Full Irish or EU Driving Licence.

Highly Desirable

• Experience leading EIAR and CPO processes.
• Experience presenting evidence at Oral Hearings.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure programmes.
• Proven success in winning and delivering major projects.
