The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Wedding & Events Manager to oversee and further develop the hotel’s weddings and events business.
This is a dynamic and varied role that combines sales, event planning, guest experience, and digital promotion. You will manage the entire event journey, from the initial enquiry and venue show around to the successful delivery of each event.
Working closely with operational teams across the hotel, you will ensure every wedding and event is delivered to the highest standards while maximising revenue opportunities and maintaining the hotel’s reputation as a leading events venue in County Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all wedding and event enquiries, conducting show arounds and consultations with prospective clients.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through proactive sales and excellent customer service.
- Plan and coordinate weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events from enquiry through to completion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for couples and event organisers throughout the planning process.
- Prepare detailed event function sheets and communicate requirements clearly with all hotel departments.
- Oversee events on the day where required, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and enhancing wedding and event packages.
- Develop strong relationships with local wedding suppliers and industry partners.
- Represent the hotel at wedding fairs, showcase events, and promotional activities.
- Assist with the promotion of weddings and events through social media platforms, creating engaging content and showcasing real events hosted at the hotel.
- Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to increase the hotel’s visibility within the weddings and events market.
- Monitor industry trends and contribute ideas to enhance the hotel’s wedding and events offering.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to team engagement.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Wedding or Events management role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong sales ability with a proven track record of converting enquiries into bookings.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Confidence using social media platforms for business promotion and event marketing.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Flexibility to support weddings and events in line with the hotel’s events calendar.
- Experience with hotel systems or event management software (Hotsoft & Res-Diary experience is an advantage).
