Mechanical Project Manager:Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects across both residential and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Manage multiple mechanical projects from initial concept through completion
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Design & Technical Oversight
- Review and coordinate mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and regulations
- Liaise with engineers, architects, and consultants.
Residential & Commercial Delivery
- Oversee installation of mechanical systems in residential developments (housing, apartments)
- Manage commercial projects including offices, retail, and industrial buildings
- Adapt project approach based on differing requirements between residential and commercial environments.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Conduct regular meetings and provide project updates.
Financial Control
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts
- Review and approve supplier invoices and subcontractor payments
- Ensure profitability and cost efficiency across projects.
Procurement & Logistics
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontract services
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules
Quality & Safety
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Conduct site inspections and audits
- Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
Requirements Education & Experience
- Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years experience managing mechanical projects
- Proven experience in both residential and commercial construction.Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with building regulations and industry standards
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
Soft Skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, or equivalent)
- Experience with BIM and modern construction technologies
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.
