Interim Operations Finance Consultant (3-4 Month Contract) Galway Hybrid 2-3 days onsite
Our client, a leading international manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Interim Operations Finance Consultant to support a major Operations Improvement Programme.
Working alongside an external consulting team, you will provide financial leadership for the programme, developing operational KPI reporting, benefits tracking and financial decision support while helping embed sustainable processes within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the finance lead and key point of contact for the Operations Improvement Programme and external consultants.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive operational KPI framework, including OTIF, OEE, quality, safety, engineering performance, yield, waste, capacity, cost and new product launch metrics.
- Define KPI methodologies, reporting standards, ownership and governance.
- Source, validate and analyse operational and financial data to support programme decision making.
- Develop baseline reporting and management dashboards.
- Establish a robust benefits case and implement benefits tracking processes to measure programme value delivery.
- Provide financial analysis, modelling and business case support for operational improvement initiatives and capital investment proposals.
- Support the embedding of reporting processes, governance and capability within the finance team.
- Deliver a structured handover and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term sustainability.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified senior finance professional with significant experience in operations or manufacturing finance.
- Proven track record supporting operational improvement, transformation or continuous improvement programmes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing performance metrics and operational drivers.
- Experience designing KPI frameworks and management reporting solutions.
- Demonstrable experience in benefits realisation, savings tracking and financial modelling.
- Strong commercial capability with experience preparing investment cases and capital expenditure appraisals.
- SAP experience, including data extraction and reporting, is highly desirable.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with senior operational stakeholders and external consulting teams.
- Comfortable operating independently with limited internal support.
