Title: Financial Controller

Location: Clonmel, Ireland

Reporting to: Finance Director

Job type: Full-time

Industry: FMCG / Food Manufacturing

Our Company

Blanco Niño is a rapidly growing, award-winning, premium Mexican food brand known for exceptional quality, traditional cooking methods and its advocacy of regenerative farming practices.

The business sells a foodservice (B2B) offering across 19 European markets and the Middle East, and a retail (B2B + B2C) offering across 5 European markets. Our major focus markets are the UK and Ireland for retail, with significant opportunities across the wider European continent and international markets.

All of our production takes place at our factory in Clonmel, Ireland, which sits at the heart of the business and plays a critical role in delivering the quality and consistency we’re known for. We also have an office in London, where the Finance Director is based. This is a hands-on role: understanding how our products are made, being present for stock counts, and building strong relationships with the production team are central to its success. Candidates should therefore expect to be on site in Clonmel at least three days a week.

The Company’s Mission

Producing Mexican food products for our favourite people and empowering better farming in the process.

Your Mission

To ensure the integrity of Blanco Niño's numbers — owning the accuracy, control and timeliness of our financial data so the business can make decisions with complete confidence.

The Opportunity

A rapidly scaling business like Blanco Niño requires a robust finance function that is timely, accurate and continuously evolving.

The Financial Controller role sits at the heart of that, bringing seniority and technical experience to all core financial processes from month-end to payroll.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you’ll own the processing and preparation of management accounts and reporting, and gain exposure to how financial information feeds into decision-making across commercial and operational areas.

You’ll also play a role in improving how things are done, helping bring more automation, consistency and clarity to finance processes as the business grows.

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to build on a strong accounting foundation and develop into a well-rounded finance professional, with increasing exposure to the wider business over time.

What You’ll be DoingCore Finance Operations

  • Own the smooth running of day-to-day finance activities, ensuring transactions and records are accurate and up to date
  • Handle a range of routine processes, including payroll and key reconciliations
  • Maintain strong financial discipline across core processes

Financial Control & Accuracy

  • Own the reconciliation of key accounts (bank, payroll and other balances)
  • Ensure financial data is complete, accurate and well organised
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate controls across the finance function

Management Accounts & Reporting

  • Own the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assist with variance analysis and understanding movements in performance
  • Contribute to reporting that is clear, structured and useful

Stock, Costing & Manufacturing Performance

  • Own stock accounting across raw materials, packaging, WIP and finished goods, including cycle counts, period-end stock valuation and GRNI
  • Maintain standard costs and bills of materials in the ERP, keeping them accurate as recipes, yields and input prices change
  • Analyse and explain production variances (material usage, yield, waste, labour and overhead absorption), working with Operations to address root causes
  • Support reporting of margin by product, customer and channel, ensuring the costing data behind it can be trusted

Insight & Business Support

  • Help turn financial data into clear, practical insights
  • Support analysis of costs, margins and operational performance
  • Work with the Finance Director to ensure financial information is useful in supporting decisions

Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Help improve finance processes, bringing more structure and consistency
  • Support the development of reporting and systems as the business grows
  • Contribute to making financial information more accessible across the business

Who You Are

  • You are highly conscientious and take pride in doing things properly.
  • Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail are second nature to you.
  • You are reliable and take ownership of your work, finding a way to deliver on your commitments even in the face of unexpected hurdles.
  • You’re a natural problem solver: you don’t just flag issues, you look for ways to fix and improve them.
  • You think from first principles: when a process isn’t working, your instinct is to redesign it properly using modern tools, automation and AI, not to patch it and move on.
  • You’re interested in evolving technologies, automation and better ways of working to drive efficiency and positive change.
  • You’re naturally curious and want to understand what sits behind the numbers.
  • You communicate clearly and are comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • You thrive in fast-moving, fast-growing team and you are very comfortable in a role where not everything is completely defined.

Ideal Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a broad, hands-on finance role, with exposure to multiple areas of the finance function.
  • Strong grounding in core accounting, including financial control, reporting and reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting the preparation of management accounts and monthly reporting.
  • Exposure to improving processes, systems or reporting.
  • Experience using finance systems, automation tools or data tools to improve efficiency
  • Comfortable working with financial data, with the ability to analyse and understand movements in performance.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing business or team, where priorities shift and responsibilities evolve.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or a product-led business.

It would be a plus if you also have:

  • ERP or finance systems implementation experience (Diomac, our new ERP, a big plus).

Why Join Us

At Blanco Niño, you’ll be part of a small, ambitious, and values-driven team making a real impact, not just in the food industry, but in the world of sustainable agriculture.

This role gives you the opportunity to shape how we manufacture products of exceptional quality at scale, supporting both today’s production and the future of our products.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and bonus
  • Pension contribution
  • Generous product allowance (our chips are seriously tasty)
