The Opportunity / Who We Seek
As the Operations Analyst, you will be the primary point of contact for business intelligence and operational data across our multi-site network. You will turn raw data from our ERP, People, CRM, and Transport systems into actionable insights that drive branch performance, margin protection, and logistical efficiency.
We are looking for a pragmatic problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of data extraction. Your goal is to refine existing processes and provide the "deep-dive" analysis necessary to impact the bottom line.
Responsibilities:
- Performance Reporting: Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reporting packs to Branch Managers and Regional Directors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Process Optimisation: Use advanced Excel skills to streamline manual workstreams where possible, reducing time-to-delivery and human error within the constraints of current data exports.
- Operational Support: Act as the functional lead for our CRM and Transport (Transend) systems, ensuring data integrity and providing technical troubleshooting for field teams.
- Insights & Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct investigations into sales trends, customer rebates, and transport efficiencies to support strategic decision-making.
- Data Presentation: Manage and prepare data within Tableau Cloud and Power BI. You will be responsible for creating intuitive visualisations and dashboards, then distributing these insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements & Key Competencies
- High-level expertise in Excel, including Power Query, Pivot Tables and complex formulas.
- Experience with Power BI is essential.
- Previous experience in Builders Merchant, Retail or Logistics environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
- A high-level of problem solving ability and a ‘can-do’ attitude toward data.
- A hands-on approach is required, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks.
