We are looking to hire a Process Technician for our medical device manufacturing client based in Limerick. This is a CPL contract with an opportunity to become permanent with the client.

Job Purpose:

To run and maintain a high volume automated production line to produce good quality lenses. A small number of technicians are also accountable for the support of calibration activities across manufacturing, particularly outside the day’s shifts.

Responsibilities:

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Responsibility for fault finding, maintenance, and continuous improvements
  • Troubleshooting and solve technical problems.
  • Work on yield quality improvements
  • All employees are responsible for minimizing both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform.
  • Ensure no housekeeping issues on own line.
  • Maintain a Credo & Behavioral Standards based culture within the group

For selected Process Technicians who also support Shift Calibration, responsibilities will also include:

  • Supports manufacturing operations, particularly across nights/weekends when the site calibration team are not available
  • Trained in manufacturing operation calibration activities. Reports events of non-adherence per calibration procedures, and calibration standards.
  • Determines instrument requirements, develops and maintains calibration procedures and ensures that appropriate calibration standards and supplies are maintained.
  • Develops and maintains accurate database, documentation and history files on all calibrated instruments.
  • Supports Internal and external audits carried out in area.
  • Ensure effective closure on Quality System of Cal NCR’s

Education and Experience Required for RoleEssential:

  • Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in a Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Moulding or related discipline

Desirable

4-5 Years experience in working with some/all of the following technologies:

  • Pneumatic Systems
  • PLC’s
  • Machine Automation
  • Equipment Set up
  • Pick and Place Machinery
  • Training and experience in the following areas:
  • Packaging / print equipment
  • High volume manufacturing
  • Mechanical set up
  • Injection Moulding
  • Qualification in electro mechanical discipline or time served apprenticeship
  • Experience of instrument calibration and/or physics
