Reporting to the Head of Business Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation, the successful candidate will work across a broad stakeholder network and play an important role in shaping commercial growth, farmer support, and customer value across the Agri Division. This position will suit an ambitious agri-professional who is ready to combine technical expertise, commercial judgement, and customer focus in a role with meaningful long-term potential.
Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Commercial Growth: Drive sales growth across key Agri categories including nutrition, animal health, grassland, and soil health solutions.
- Campaign Leadership: Develop and coordinate business development campaigns across farm-facing teams, while supporting the expansion of wholesale opportunities.
- Customer Support: Provide farmers and customers with practical technical advice, product guidance, and a consistently high standard of relationship management.
- Performance Management: Monitor sales performance and use commercial insight to strengthen outcomes across the customer portfolio.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with area sales, retail, inside sales, operations, credit control, and transport teams to deliver a strong and consistent customer experience.
- Innovation and Improvement: Contribute to innovation, new product development, and digital transformation initiatives that enhance farm profitability and sustainability.
- Market Presence: Help build the profile of the business through technical communication, campaigns, events, and customer engagement activity.
Candidates for this position must possess:
- Technical Strength: Strong knowledge of modern farming systems, with depth in areas such as animal nutrition, animal health, grassland, or technical farm support.
- Commercial Mindset: A commercially aware approach, with the ability to identify opportunities, influence outcomes, and support revenue growth.
- Relationship Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the credibility to build strong relationships across customers and internal stakeholders.
- Execution Capability: Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Personal Style: A proactive, self-starting approach, combined with the flexibility and resilience to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Digital and Communication Capability: Good digital proficiency, including Microsoft Office skills; experience in communications or social media would be an advantage.
- Qualifications and Experience: A relevant third-level qualification is desirable, supported by at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
