As a result of these promotions, we are recruiting several leadership roles to join our Senior Leadership Team and help drive our business strategy forward. Eirgen was founded in 2005 and since then we have continually grown and now employ over 180 employees at our site in Waterford. Our strengths lie in our capability to rapidly introduce new products and add additional volume to existing products - ensuring supply for new product launches and expanding market opportunities.

About the Job
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), you will lead the development and implementation of
strategies and operational practices within the Finance function of the organization, ensuring the
successful delivery of business strategy and site objectives.
This role has specific overall responsibility for the company’s financial records, financial reporting,
tax compliance, annual audit, budgeting and forecasting, and cash flow management.
Key duties of this role include:Senior Management
• Participate as part of the senior management team in the effective running of the business and
development of the company’s strategic plans. Bring to life the business strategy and
performance to the broad organization, with an intent to provide understanding and direction
• Coordinate and collate the Company’s budget and 3 year business planning process – assist the
CFO in bringing the budget story to life through effective analysis and visuals
• Bring a cost and value focus to the organization, amongst others by effectively engaging and
challenging peers, managers and direct reports
• Act as financial sounding board for business topics
• Maintain department or key financial performance metrics for site review and steering, and
actively drive the discussion on overall business metrics
• ‘Live’ the Company values, provide leadership, drive and deliver on strategy
• Effectively manage the Finance Department through clear goal and expectation setting,
performance management, coaching, mentoring, engagement and stakeholder management
Corporate Finance
• Work with Corporate Finance partners to assist in overall corporate finance strategy and control
systems
• Manage the cash position of the company in consultation with the Corporate Finance team
Board of Directors
• Presentation of financial information to the Board of Directors
• Support the CFO with recurring or ad-hoc queries and analysis
Financial Records & Compliance
• Ensure that the company financial records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
Apply accounting policies consistently and maintain compliance with OPKO and local accounting
standards
• Ensure Eirgen is tax compliant, including but not limited to VAT, PAYE/PRSI, Corporation Tax,
Withholding Tax and R&D tax credits
• Ensure appropriate levels of insurance are in place
• Act as focal point for company secretarial activities – ensure Board Minutes, forms and filings
are managed in accordance with internal and company law
• Manage the Payroll related activities of the company ensuring compliance with company and
employment law
Annual audit
• Responsibility for ensuring a SOX compliant, clean audited set of financial statements.
• Manage (and negotiate) with auditors as required
Budgeting and forecasting
• Responsibility for ensuring the delivery of a corporate approved budget and 3 year business
plan, in cooperation with the CFO
• Deliver a monthly (or as otherwise specified) legal entity EBITDA forecast to corporate, pre-aligned with the CFO
• Delivery a quarterly legal entity tax forecast to corporate and tax partners
• Delivery a recurring cash flow forecast to manage the company cash needs
Others
• Manage the relationships with banks, the IDA and other funding providers as agreed with peers
and the CFO
• Actively seek to remain up to date on changes in finance, laws and regulations, systems &
technology, grant funding, auditing, etc and seek to implement improvements
• Ensure requirements of Eirgen Pharma safety statement are implemented, amongst others by
continuously promoting a positive safety culture and leading by example
• Ensure work is carried out in compliance with the required Quality standards, conforming to
company, cGMP, cGLP, SOP’s, regulatory guidelines, safety and environmental standards.
About you
You are an effective leader and have built, managed and motivated teams in the past. You also have a proven track record as an influencer at senior management level, are analytical and a strong decision maker with excellent problem solving skills. You manage change collaboratively and possess excellent written & verbal communication skills. You will draw from many other attributes including critical thinking, customer focus and time management. You have the ability to form positive relationships and enjoy collaborating, gaining knowledge and solving customer, partner, vendor and internal challenges/issues. Focused on Continuous Improvement you like to identify and initiate process and system changes to their conclusion ensuring delivery of results for the business.
The ideal candidate should be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or similar) with >10
years’ experience, preferably within a pharma / regulated / manufacturing setting. Experience using ERP software packages, SAP being an advantage. SOX experience, US GAAP and FRS 102 exposure is a distinct advantage.
