We are now looking for a Mortgage Adviser to join our EBS Waterford Office on a full-time, permanent basis, working 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Your Rewards

Your Role

As a Mortgage Adviser, you will deliver outstanding service to customers within our Waterford branch, ensuring they receive expert advice and support around their mortgage decisions.

Specifically, you will advise on and sell our mortgage products, focusing on growing our business in the retail banking sector.

You will interview and work with prospective mortgage customers, providing assessments of their situations, supporting their mortgage applications, and preparing detailed recommendations.

Additionally, you will:

- Work towards sales and customer targets

- Undertake external business development activities

- Build professional relationships with customers

- Go ‘the extra mile’ for customers

- Record activity on our internal IT systems

- Ensure compliance at every stage of the mortgage process

- Occasionally support other areas of the business, such as Home Insurance, Customer Service and banking transactions and queries

About You

To be considered as a Mortgage Adviser, you will need:

- At a minimum, the APA Loans designation, ideally a full QFA accreditation

- Experience in mortgage lending, ideally with credit/loans experience

- Exceptional interpersonal and sales skills

- The ability to communicate effectively with customers on complex points in simple language

- Very strong attention to detail, administration and organisational skills

- A willingness to continually learn in the day-to-day role and succeed in industry exams

- Computer literate to comprehend and use several IT systems

- Strong knowledge of the local market and a focus on business development and sales

An existing local network of contacts would be beneficial to your application, as would experience within a bank or credit union.
