Elgin Energy is looking for a proactive Financial Accountant to support core finance operations and help drive accurate, insightful financial performance across our renewable energy business. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, where you’ll play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. You’ll gain exposure to a dynamic environment while contributing to the delivery of impactful solar and storage projects. What You Will Do:
- Manage the day-to-day finance functions, including reviewing bank reconciliations and overseeing intercompany transactions.
- Prepare and review month-end accounts, forecasts, and budgets.
- Produce consolidated quarterly management accounts with supporting financial analysis and commentary.
- Contribute to internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Prepare and review VAT returns for Ireland and the UK.
- Coordinate and prepare annual audit packs for external auditors.
- Respond to ad hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with various business units across the Elgin Group to support financial operations and process improvements.
Your profile
- ACA/ACCA qualification with 2+ years post-qualified experience (PQE).
- Proven experience in management accounts preparation and consolidation across multiple jurisdictions (highly desirable).
- Strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting.
- Experience in tax compliance (Ireland and/or UK).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general IT literacy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as part of a growing finance team.
