The role sits within the UK D&A CDO function within the UK Data and Analytics function, and will report into the UK Chief Data Officer The CDO Head of Commercial Data Quality & Usage, is effectively accountable for the health of commercial data, and its usage. This role also contributes to setting the policy and frameworks, but then oversees their implementation for commercial data. What You’ll DoData Management & Quality
- Lead the Data Management & Quality function.
- Help ensure we have an up-to-date Data Management Framework covering policies, standards, rules, metrics and training; leverage global policies and detail UK specifics as required. (Working closely with the Head of Data Governance & Frameworks)
- Oversee the management and monitoring of effective validation rules, pass v fail thresholds, remediation processes and SLA’s.
- Define and drive our Data Quality improvement programme, being an advocate across the business for its importance.
- Lead the data fix (incidents & issues) resolution process along with the prioritisation process.
- Establish, lead and drive a Data Management improvement roadmap, working closely with supporting functions across the business to continuously improve data process controls based on approved funding to deliver this.
- Provide the UK organisation with guidance on Data Management & Quality best practice in line with our Data Management Framework.
- Proactively identify and mitigate Data Management & Quality risks where possible (working closely with the Head of Data Governance and Frameworks.)
- Monitor and report on our data health and improvement areas based on capabilities available at the time.
- Oversee the cost of ongoing data acquisition/royalties and related budgets (working with the Data Supplier Manager)
- Provide relationship management industry bodies as agreed to maximise the relationship and serve as the primary point of contact.
Usage Control
- Contribute to the Data Sharing policy and relevant standards to reflect current legislation and business needs.
- Ensure all Data Use cases are documented, with clear rationale, providing an audit trail of decision making whilst facilitating clear communication within the business
- Document and maintain legitimate interest assessments for our Data assets.
- Run the AskData process providing support to the business on data use cases so we can maximise data value in line with lawful & permitted purposes.
- Provide Data usage information to Marketing, Sales and Product enabling their understanding of how Data can be used/sold.
- Own Data use case training for internal employees including induction training to support all employees to obtain the required level of data knowledge for their role.
- Manage the DSAR/LSAR content, document rationale for data inclusion/exclusion.
- Follow our governance process to obtain approval for any changes to the above and coordinate implementation of changes across the business.
- Maintain accurate and complete data usage information for each data asset including permitted purpose and retention, ensuring appropriate subject matter experts are identified for each Data asset
Usage Optimisation
- Work with product and D&A to ensure we are making as much use of the data as permitted
- Work with D&A & Finance to track data costs and revenues
- Ensure we have agreed profitable rate cards
- Work with business partners to ensure appropriate billing is in place
External
- Represent Equifax at an industry level, ensuring Equifax has an equal or leading voice where feasible to influence / direct discussion and outcomes:
- Closed User Group committees
- Cross CRA discussions / projects
- Trade Associations
- Regulatory / Government / Wider Industry
- Support client and internal calls across DMQU related topics
Training
- Work with the training manager and CDO D&A colleagues to ensure there is data training for internal employees, including induction and annual existing employee training, to support all employees to obtain the required level of data knowledge for their role.
What Experience You Need
- Extebsive experience workiing with Commercial CRA data
- Extensive experience in external relations
- Extensive experience driving DQ & M
- Negotiation and self drive
