Our client, a leading and rapidly growing retailer in Ireland, is seeking a strategic and commercially focused Merchandiser to join their team during an exciting phase of expansion. As the business continues to evolve, this role will play a critical part in shaping commercial performance and supporting data-driven decision-making. Dublin South-based.

Responsibilities of this Merchandiser role include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Overseeing the end-to-end production of weekly trading reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights.
- Managing the forecast and budget process across all Trading categories, ensuring robust and data-driven planning.
- Partnering closely with Trading Managers and category leads to identify risks, opportunities, and growth levers.
- Transforming complex trading data into clear, compelling narratives and presentations to influence senior stakeholders.
- Building and automating dashboards and visual reporting tools using Power BI or similar platforms.
- Conducting in-depth analysis on trading performance, customer behaviour, pricing strategies, and promotional effectiveness.
- Monitoring competitor activity, market trends, and industry developments to ensure continued competitiveness.
- Driving process improvement initiatives, standardising reporting frameworks, and increasing efficiency within the department.
- Building strong relationships with internal departments and external suppliers to enhance commercial outcomes.
- Acting as a catalyst for change by introducing innovative tools, automation, and AI-driven approaches where beneficial.
Experience required for this Merchandiser role include:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Trading Analyst, Merchandise Planner, or equivalent commercial analytics role (FMCG experience strongly advantageous).
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including complex data manipulation and modelling.
- Experience with Power BI or equivalent visualisation tools (Tableau, Looker) is highly beneficial.
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
- Exposure to AI-powered analytics, automation tools, or predictive modelling is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of FMCG industry trends, category dynamics, and trading cycles.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and confidently.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Enthusiastic, driven, and commercially focused.
- Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis if required.
