Kitchen Porter Full time

Kitchen Porter - Gourmet Food Parlour, Salthill (Galway) Gourmet Food Parlour is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Salthill, Galway. This is a full time role of 30+ hours a week over 5 days, flexibility is needed Mon-Sun. As an essential member of our kitchen team, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation - helping to keep our busy kitchens running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with company policies.
• Assist with receiving and organising deliveries, ensuring all items are checked and stored correctly.
• Tidy and organise food storage areas, ensuring everything is clearly labelled and properly rotated.
• Date-label produce and manage stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
• Follow all health and safety and food hygiene procedures.
• Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods.
• Must hold a valid EU passport or work permit/visa.
• Must be able to speak English.
• HACCP knowledge is an advantage.
