Job Title: Senior Corporate Partnerships & Grants Officer

Location: Rathmines – Hybrid (Mon and Thurs office days)

Report to: Senior Business Development Manager

Role: Specific Purpose Contract - Maternity cover, approx. 12 months

The Irish Heart Foundation is a community of people who fight to protect the cardiovascular health of everyone in Ireland. • Caring for and speaking out for people in the community living with heart conditions and stroke, and their families.

• Innovating and leading in health promotion and prevention to change health behaviours and reduce cardiovascular risk.

• Building a nation of lifesavers through CPR training.

• Campaigning and advocating for policies that support people to live healthier lives.

• Information provision.

Our team is currently approx. 120 employees and up to 125 volunteers working towards the Foundation’s vision of a future where no hearts are broken by preventable heart disease. The Role The Senior Corporate Partnerships and Grants Officer is an important role for the Irish Heart Foundation and key to maximising our overall fundraising income. The Officer will work alongside the Senior Business Development Manager to grow our grants, trusts, and foundations income stream as well as corporate sector income through partnerships and sponsorship initiatives. We are seeking to employ an experienced Corporate Partnerships and Grants Officer who has a proven track record in fundraising. This includes researching charity partnerships and grants opportunities, writing grant submissions and reports, writing partnership proposals and managing relationships with corporate partners and other key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement new corporate and grant opportunities.

• Research grants, sponsorship and charity of the year applications in Ireland and abroad that would be interested in funding our work, which includes community

prevention programmes, school initiatives and heart and stroke patient support services.

• Manage all aspects of grant and corporate applications, including writing high-quality funding applications and gathering all required budgets and documentation for submission.

• Create innovative and persuasive proposals that stand out from standard submissions.

• Responsible for funding proposals and applications across a wide range of opportunities including philanthropic trusts and foundations as well as the corporate sector.

• Work closely with our senior management and programme and service leads to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the Irish Heart Foundation’s work, so you will be able to effectively communicate them.

• Build relationships with key stakeholders including regular communication, face-to-face meetings.

• Deliver high quality funder stewardship to enable funders to see the impact of their support.

• Engage with CRM to ensure up to date contact details, communication logs and financial reporting.

• Keep a record of applications, success rates, feedback, and funding pipeline.

• Undertake administrative responsibilities related to corporate partnerships which includes income processing, receipting, and updating the donor database.

• Keep up to date on sector knowledge and giving trends.

• Represent the Foundation at events as required.

Skills and experience required:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the charity or non-profit sector

• Experience in proposal writing with the ability to write clearly and persuasively

• Great attention to detail and highly organised with a passion for developing positive corporate relationships

• Knowledge of philanthropic organisations in Ireland and abroad

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines

• Positive attitude, proactive, and committed

• A dedicated member of the team, but also able to work on their own initiative and motivation

• Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM

Details of role and application process:

This is a full-time Specific Purpose role, Monday to Friday. The role is based in the Irish Heart Foundation’s offices in Rathmines, Dublin. Working under a Hybrid model (2 required days in office (Mondays and Thursdays), but option to work 5 days in office if preferred.
