About the Role

An established mechanical engineering contractor is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of high-value pharmaceutical and life sciences projects in the Kerry region. This position suits someone well organised, hands-on, and capable of managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving ability is essential.

This is a site-based role with accommodation provided for candidates travelling into the region each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project delivery from planning and scheduling through to completion and handover.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, BIM, QA and procurement teams to maintain alignment with client requirements.
  • Track project progress through internal systems and ensure compliance across all disciplines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to address issues, maintain safety standards and ensure quality benchmarks are met.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Support Directors and Site Managers with strategy, risk management and project planning.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager within a Mechanical/HVAC contractor environment.
  • Strong background delivering pharma, life sciences, semiconductor or data centre projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC and Process systems.
  • Strong project management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to oversee multiple workstreams and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel within Europe occasionally.

Essential Experience Criteria

To meet project requirements, applications are limited to candidates who have worked on the contractor side delivering mechanical or process engineering projects.

  • Client-side roles
  • Pure consultancy roles
