Role Description The Scaffolding Design Technician – Leinster based full time position with offices in Gorey, Co. Wexford and our Head office in Co. Laois. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient design of scaffolding solutions for a variety of construction and industrial projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing scaffolding drawings and layouts, reviewing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and client needs. The role involves conducting site assessments, identifying access and safety requirements, and translating these into practical, cost-effective scaffolding designs. The technician will assist in coordinating with erection teams, verifying design implementation on site, updating documentation and inspection records, and supporting continuous improvement in safety and design practices. This position requires close attention to detail, clear communication, and adherence to company procedures and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong scaffolding knowledge and experience, including scaffolding design principles and practical understanding of scaffold erection and dismantling.
- Candidates should possess working at height competencies, including familiarity with relevant safety procedures and safe access/egress methods.
- Candidates should possess confined space awareness and training, with the ability to account for restricted access and safe working methods in design solutions.
- Candidates should possess recognised construction safety credentials (such as CSCS or equivalent), demonstrating understanding of site safety, regulations, and best practices.
- Candidates should possess fall protection competencies, including knowledge of fall arrest and restraint systems and how they integrate with scaffolding designs.
- Relevant technical qualification in construction, engineering, or a related field is beneficial, along with experience using design or CAD software for layout and planning.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications and work effectively with site and office teams.
