Are you an experienced delivery leader with a passion for driving high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and delivering business value? We are seeking a Planning Team Lead to provide leadership and operational oversight to our Solution Delivery Planning team within the IT function.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the successful planning, governance, and delivery of projects and agile initiatives that support laya healthcare's strategic objectives.

About the Role

As Planning Team Lead / Solution Delivery Team Lead, you will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to the Planning and Delivery team. You will champion delivery excellence, promote continuous improvement, and ensure effective governance across a diverse portfolio of projects and product initiatives.

Working closely with the Planning & Product Delivery Manager and key stakeholders across the business, you will help create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation while ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Planning and Delivery team, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and priorities.
  • Provide operational oversight for project and product delivery activities, ensuring compliance with governance standards and delivery methodologies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering capability growth and career development.
  • Monitor delivery performance, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Support portfolio reporting through meaningful metrics, OKRs, and dashboards that demonstrate delivery performance and business impact.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Information Security standards across all delivery activities.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Project Management certification (PMP or PRINCE2 preferred).
  • Agile delivery accreditation (PSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent) is essential.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience leading complex, enterprise-scale projects and product delivery initiatives.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall.
  • Strong financial management skills, including project budgeting and cost control.
  • Experience influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI is an advantage.
  • Ability to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and organisational change in a dynamic environment.
