Role Description The Site Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Fermoy. This position is responsible for overseeing daily site activities, including setting out works, monitoring progress, and ensuring construction aligns with design specifications and quality standards. The Site Engineer will coordinate with civil and structural engineers, site management, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain smooth project delivery. The role involves implementing quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections, and promoting health and safety compliance across the site. The Site Engineer will also prepare and maintain site records, communicate project updates, and support effective teamwork to meet project timelines and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong on-site construction experience with the ability to manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with civil engineers, structural engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Experience in quality control, including inspecting work, identifying issues, and ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
- Background in civil or structural engineering, with a solid understanding of construction methods, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Relevant engineering or construction-related qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in civil/structural engineering or construction management).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to work safely and efficiently on active construction sites.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using basic site surveying tools and construction-related software is an advantage.
