About the Role
As a Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, engaging with customers, and managing the sales process from initial enquiry through to project completion.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction or building solutions, with a trade background highly desirable. This knowledge will allow you to understand customer needs, communicate technical solutions effectively, and build trusted relationships with homeowners, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve agreed revenue targets
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and other prospecting activities
- Conduct customer site visits and energy assessments
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable retrofit solutions
- Prepare and present professional proposals and quotations
- Negotiate contracts and successfully close sales opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline progress
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders
- Keep up to date with industry developments, regulations, and sustainability trends
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within construction, energy efficiency, building materials, or a related sector
- Practical experience or background in a trade is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of retrofit construction principles and energy-efficient solutions
- Experience with energy assessments or BER certification would be an advantage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of managing your own workload
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers
