This position will suit an ambitious and motivated individual who is eager to support a growing team. The role involves working closely with senior personnel across multiple teams and delivering high-quality work to support clients across a range of engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the production and review of NAV calculations and associated processes as required.
  • Enhancing clients’ NAV production and other fund administration processes by reducing timelines, improving controls, and ensuring best-in-class outcomes.
  • Introducing and improving management information through the use of modern BI tools and appropriate performance indicators.
  • Reconciling data from prime brokers, custodians, or other counterparties to fund administration systems, including detailed analysis and break resolution.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members to enhance technical and soft skill development.
  • Developing documentation and materials to support client engagements, including process documents, project materials, and reconciliation templates.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in areas of prior experience to enhance delivery to clients.

Key Requirements

  • Deep technical understanding of fund accounting and fund administration functions within the asset management industry.
  • Strong experience within the asset management space, particularly in fund administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different client operating environments.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at a technical level regarding fund accounting matters.
  • Experience with a range of fund types/structures such as mutual funds, UCITS, ICAVs, private equity, REITs, SPVs, hedge funds, ETFs and derivatives is an advantage.
  • Experience with fund administration systems is beneficial, ideally including fund setup activities and an understanding of the technology landscape.
  • End-to-end NAV calculation experience with a strong grasp of each component within the calculation process.
  • Financial reporting knowledge and experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience in reconciliation processes, including design and implementation.
  • Ability to analyse operational environments and propose process improvement and automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of complex fund administration calculations (e.g. performance fees, waterfalls, distributions) is an advantage.
  • A strong client service mindset.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Deep knowledge of the financial services/asset management industry, either directly or via consultancy.
  • Relevant professional qualification in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in a multinational environment.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in fund accounting, ideally including time within consulting or a tier-one fund administrator/asset manager.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to lead junior staff and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and Excel proficiency.
  • Confident and mature individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor others.
  • Proactive, able to work on their own initiative, while also knowing when to collaborate and seek support.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for new challenges.
