Job Description

Posted on: August 26, 2025

Our Client

Our client is a global leader in power supply solutions, delivering innovative products for the medical, industrial, transportation, and renewable energy sectors. They offer the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Overview

This role involves managing power density, integrating components into compact designs, and handling thermal, EMC, vibration, shock, and safety requirements. You will contribute to the design and validation of products for the medical, industrial, and green energy sectors, with a competitive salary, benefits, and clear career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities And Activities Include

  • Create and refine CAD models (SolidEdge preferred, SolidWorks also considered) for complex electronic assemblies.
  • Encasing PCB-mounted electronic components into compact, compliant, and manufacturable housings.
  • Design and validate cooling systems, heat sinks, and coolant integration for high power-density devices.
  • Ensure your designs are practical, cost-effective, and optimised for production.
  • Lead thermal, shock, vibration, and compression testing of prototypes and packaging.
  • Work closely with electronics engineers – expect healthy debates and joint problem-solving.
  • Maintain thorough documentation across the product lifecycle, including handling ECNs (Engineering Change Notices).
  • Assemble prototypes yourself to fully understand mechanical behaviour and potential design challenges.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, or 3-8 years of semi-relevant experience in electronics-related mechanical design.
  • Proven track record in encasing electronic components on PCB boards (not just automotive/mechanical parts).
  • Strong knowledge of thermal management principles and design.
  • Experience with EMC, vibration, shock, and safety standards in mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with documentation processes and a tidy, process-driven approach to engineering.
  • CAD proficiency - SolidEdge is a big plus
