Director of Finance Recruitment – Build a New Finance Division

Realtime Recruitment is an award‑winning tech and transformation recruitment specialist, trusted by clients across Ireland, the UK and the USA since 2005. We provide technology and transformation talent on contract, permanent, and near-shore basis, using a proven methodology and a best-in-class tech stack to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

As we continue to grow, we are creating a dedicated finance division and are now seeking a highly motivated Head of Finance to build and lead it.

The opportunity

Reporting directly to the Leadership team, you will be the senior Finance lead in the business, responsible for designing and building the finance arm of Realtime from the ground up. You will work closely with our Directors, Consultants and Operations team to create a modern, commercial finance function that supports our next phase of growth in the Irish market and beyond.

This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role where you will meet customers and candidates, help shape commercials, targets, margins and strategic decisions in a fast‑moving recruitment environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement and lead a new fit‑for‑purpose finance function for a very successful recruitment brand within the Irish market
  • Own all core finance activities: budgeting, forecasting, month‑end, management accounts
  • Build robust reporting packs, KPIs and dashboards that give clear visibility on NFI, contractor book performance, margins, cashflow and profitability.
  • Partner with the Leadership team on strategy, pricing models, margin improvement and investment decisions, leveraging a warm existing client base.
  • Work alongside the internal back office team to ensure smooth invoicing and timesheet management
  • Recruit, coach and develop a small finance team as the division grows, while remaining hands‑on
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting, tax and regulatory requirements in Ireland, with potential to support UK/US operations in time.

About you

  • Strong track record in the Irish market with a very good understanding of local finance, tax and regulatory requirements.
  • 7+ years experience in Finance recruitment with a strong network of clients and candidates.
  • Demonstrable experience of setting up, restructuring or significantly improving a finance function, including systems and processes.
  • Big picture mindset, comfortable discussing commercials, pricing and margins, as well as knowing when ideally to add to the team
  • Highly motivated and eager to take on a fresh challenge, with the drive to build something new while being fully supported by an experienced Leadership team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level and work collaboratively across the business.

What Realtime offers

  • The opportunity to build and lead a new finance division within an award‑winning, established tech and transformation recruitment brand.
  • A warm client base and strong market reputation to leverage from day one.
  • A proven recruitment methodology and best‑in‑class technology platform to help you maximise your impact.
  • Hybrid working from our Sandyford office, next to the luas and M50 - easy access to meet Clients in the Dublin area.
  • Empowered as a Leader to make it happen, with great support, coaching and collaboration from an experienced Leadership team invested in your success and long‑term progression.
  • Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus bonus and benefits, reflecting the seniority and impact of this role.
  • 4.7* ranking on Glassdoor
  • 4.9* ranking on Google
