Audit Accountant

Our client is a well-established and busy professional services practice based in Killarney, County Kerry are presently recruiting for an Audit Accountant. The practice offers audit, accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME, owner-managed, and corporate clients across a range of sectors. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing audit assignments while working closely with partners, managers, and clients. The role offers strong exposure to a varied client base and provides an excellent opportunity for professional development within a supportive and collaborative practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, executing, and completing statutory audits in accordance with Irish Auditing Standards
• Preparing audit files, working papers, and reports to a high professional standard
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain audit information and resolve queries efficiently
• Identifying audit issues and providing practical recommendations to clients
• Assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members, where appropriate
• Ensuring compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures
• Meeting deadlines and managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced practice environment

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with ACA / ACCA (or equivalent).
• 2+years audit experience within an accountancy practice in Ireland or the UK is essential
• Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting standards
• Experience with SME and owner-managed business audits

This is a permanent, full-time position. Salary in the region of €50 – €60,000 is offered.
