We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team of our Tralee client. Working across a diverse portfolio of construction and civil engineering projects, you will play a key role in managing project costs, commercial performance and contractual matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Irish contractor with a strong focus on quality, efficiency and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and cost management of assigned projects from tender through to final account.
- Prepare budgets, cost plans, forecasts and regular commercial reports.
- Manage procurement, tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations.
- Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, claims and financial performance.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Support contract administration and resolution of commercial disputes.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.
Key Requirements
- Degree or recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience, ideally with a main contractor or civil engineering company.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, contracts and the Irish construction industry.
- Excellent commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant commercial/construction software.
- SCSI or RICS Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be an advantage.
