Senior Material Handler

Based in Waterford and reporting to the Warehouse Team Lead you will be responsible for the operational execution of the warehouse be involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products and organize inventory control. Include writing reports, discovering, and analysing discrepancies in the inventory and improving the inventory control systems in place. Responsibilities As Sr Material Handler your responsibilities are:

• Perform all warehouse activities without supervision (after training).
• Advanced knowledge of warehouse and domestic and international transportation
• Work in conjunction with manufacturing/customer services in shipping the right product on the right time.
• Cooperate with all levels of the warehousing & logistics organization.
• Collaborate with production, sales operations.
• Is respecting correct inventory of parts and final products before and after production.
• Identify and manage process improvements within scope of responsibility.
• Drives implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address internal and external audit observations.
• Ensure compliance to all warehousing and logistics policies and procedures.
• Solid knowledge of business concepts/principles (terms and conditions, transportation, accounting)
• May oversee and provide guidance to junior level personnel.
• Communicates effectively with internal employees and supervisor/manager with problem solve challenges and issues.
• Advanced knowledge of production schedules and kitting requirements in support of manufacturing
• Job encounters varying work situations, involving higher complexity.
• Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
• Demonstrates judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
• Initiative and organization skills are extremely valuable to ensure a smooth office operation. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements and actions these after approval

Qualifications The successful candidate meets the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the warehouse
• Leaving Certificate or Equalivant
• Proficient ERP/SAP knowledge and experience in a warehousing environment
• ISO or equivalent system, understanding procedures and requirements and change control.
• Familiar with continuous improvement programs
• Good math, organization, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Full Clean drivers Licence
• Valid Fork Lift Licence an advantage
