Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Clonmel, where the Manufacturing Manager will oversee daily operations of the manufacturing process. Responsibilities include production planning, managing manufacturing operations, ensuring quality control, and supervising production management activities. The Manufacturing Manager will strategize and implement operational improvements, monitor processes, and ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations. Collaboration across teams and leadership in a dynamic environment will be key to success in this role.
The Company is at a stage of transformation and continuing on a journey of automation and the person will need to come in and take control and lead from the front.
Core Position Responsibilities
· Adequate and hygienic control, storage and stock take of all incoming ingredients, control of process, maintenance of processing equipment and management of manufacturing staff.
· Ensure a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene is maintained at all times.
· Liaising with approved suppliers, ensuring ingredients is of the highest quality at the right price and deliveries are on time. Liaising with QA Dept when new suppliers are being assessed prior to supply.
· Directly supervising the manufacturing team to ensure that the service, quality, food safety, authenticity, legality and quality, legality and cost objectives are achieved.
· Ensure proper document control of traceability records & recipe generation. Ensure recipe generation is as per order requirements and customer requirements.
· Ensure recipe is adhered to at all times and quantities are measured accurately using calibrated equipment only.
· Ensure safety standards are met and safe-working practices adhered to. Also ensuring the staff working environment is safe and sanitary.
· Ensure all procedures are adhered to and that all GMP and hygiene requirements are maintained.
· Ensure all products manufactured are within specification and according to HACCP requirements and have the organoleptic and quality properties which satisfy both legal and customer requirements. Liasing with the Quality Control Department on same.
· Motivate employees and build teams to support the plant's policy of continuous improvement.
· Training of all new staff in the manufacture and storage of products etc. ensure training records up to date.
· Optimise the use of human and financial resources by encouraging an atmosphere of involvement, open communications and effective teamwork.
· Dealing with contractors and maintenance personnel to ensure maximum productivity.
· Liasing with custom officer in regards of dutiable ingredients
· Ensure all NPDs are compliant with current food safety, authenticity, legality and quality standards, legislation and food safety, authenticity, legality and quality, quality management system and meet customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in Production Planning and Production Management to effectively oversee manufacturing schedules and operations.
- Strong skills in Quality Control to ensure adherence to product standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing Operations and Operations Management, including optimizing processes for efficiency and productivity.
- Proven leadership, transformation and team management capabilities to guide and develop operational teams.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, food science or a related field is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in the beverage production industry is a plus.
