Job Description

Posted on: April 14, 2026

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society. About The Role Sulzer’s Wexford site is a centre of excellence for wastewater pump technology, where engineering teams work hands‑on with products that end up protecting communities, infrastructure and the environment worldwide. From early development through to full certification, Wexford plays a pivotal role in turning innovative designs into proven, reliable solutions used by customers across global markets. If you enjoy seeing the real‑world impact of your work, this is a site where engineering truly matters. As a Test Engineer, you’ll be right at the heart of that journey. Your work directly supports Product Development, Product Introduction and Continuous Technology projects, helping transform design concepts into robust, compliant products used in real‑world wastewater applications. You’ll build deep technical expertise across hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and compliance testing, working closely with local and global development teams. This is a role with real ownership, visible influence on product decisions, and the opportunity to grow your capability as Sulzer continues to invest in advanced testing and future technologies. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform hydraulic performance testing including flow, head, efficiency and NPSH
  • Execute mechanical and electrical testing such as vibration, noise and motor performance
  • Carry out electrical safety testing (dielectric, insulation resistance, leakage current)
  • Test pumps under simulated wastewater conditions, including solids handling, clogging behaviour, wear and lifetime performance
  • Project manage global testing requirements for products, aligning test strategies, resources and timelines with international teams
  • Conduct performance, safety and compliance testing in line with ISO, EN, IEC, Hydraulic Institute (HI), CSA / UL, IECEEC and FM standards
  • Produce regulatory‑compliant test plans, protocols and reports for certification submissions
  • Support third‑party audits and inspections, including CSA (SMTC) assessments
  • Analyse and interpret test data to identify trends, deviations or non‑conformities
  • Investigate test failures, recommend corrective actions and support design improvements

What You Bring

  • A strong technical foundation in hydraulics, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Experience with test execution, validation or compliance testing in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • A structured, detail‑oriented approach combined with the confidence to work cross‑functionally
  • The ability to balance hands‑on testing with documentation, analysis and stakeholder collaboration

What we offer you

  • A competitive base salary
  • Flex time with core hours of 09:30–14:30
  • 26 days annual leave
  • A defined pension contribution
  • Free on‑site parking with reduced‑rate EV charging
  • Subsidised on‑site canteen
  • Maternity/paternity leave top‑up
  • Access to Sulzer Learning Pathways for continuous professional development
  • Genuine opportunities for international mobility and long‑term progression
  • Work on globally deployed wastewater technology that delivers real environmental impact
  • Access to advanced test facilities and complex, varied engineering challenges
  • Be part of a collaborative site with strong links to global engineering and R&D teams
  • Build deep technical expertise while shaping future‑ready testing standards
