Our client is the oldest independent bottling and blending manufacturing company in Ireland. They are looking to recruit a General Manager to manage all operational functions including bottling, vatting, maintenance, logistics and warehousing.
Key responsibilities:
• Implement processes and procedures to ensure that functions are efficient and scalable, driving continuous improvement
• Lead the execution of production plans in implementing processes and procedures which minimise downtime, ensure weekly production plans are achieved and the plant is ready to take on new contracts as required
• Implement processes and procedures that ensure the alignment of production planning with profitability
• Build and foster a solid communications protocol with head office operations
• Design, agree and implement weekly and monthly reporting schedules to the Head of Production Operations, CEO and CFO
• Assume agreed P&L responsibility and drive cost management initiatives while maintaining efficiency and quality
• Manage the relationship with key customers
• Build and lead a high performing, engaged team setting clear performance objectives and embedding a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement
• Ensure that health and safety is a key priority across the site
• Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and upheld at all times
Qualifications and experience:
• Proven success in a production role within FMCG, ideally with beverage experience.
• Clear evidence of efficiently and effectively running a production environment
• Evidence of being able to effectively structure a team(s) and then lead and foster a positive, modern culture while nurturing and developing talent
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a science or engineering subject
• A self-starter with excellent leadership and management skills, a strategic outlook, and a practical mindset
• Able to work across all levels of the business (from Board to ‘shop floor’) and be ‘hands on’ as necessary
• Problem solving aligned with strong project management skills
• Strong communicator who is credible and comfortable in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business; demonstrates pace, gravitas, and engagement
• Ability to deliver in an intelligent, collaborative, practical and enthusiastic manner; personally effective
• Resilient and able to drive change despite resistance
