Job Description

Who We Are
Whitewater Group is a leading provider of innovative and sustainable water treatment engineering systems operating in Ireland, the UK and across Europe in the Data Centre, Pharma, Power and Industrial sectors. We specialize in designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining water treatment solutions to meet our clients' specific needs. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions that prioritize safety, reliability, and environmental sustainability.
Whitewater Group is headquartered in Naas Co. Kildare and operates from European bases in Spain, Sweden, Finland, and the UK, with plans for further offices in Germany, Denmark, and Italy. The Group is experiencing significant growth driven by its focus on off-site construction methods (OSM) for delivering turnkey projects, reducing on-site construction time to a minimum.
The opportunity
As Whitewater Group continues to scale across multiple international markets, we are hiring a dedicated Bid Manager role to bring structure, coordination, and rigour to the way we go to market.
You will take full ownership of the bid process from end to end: coordinating inputs from Engineering, Estimating, Commercial, and Sales, and presenting proposals to senior management prior to client submission. The Estimating Department will report directly into this role. A technical background is advantageous but not a requirement; the right person is an exceptional organiser with the commercial instinct and interpersonal authority to bring multiple departments together around a common deadline.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full tender process from opportunity identification through to submission, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met at every stage.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality, compelling bid documents and proposals, coordinating inputs from technical, commercial, and operational teams.
- Develop and implement bid strategies aligned with the Group's growth objectives and the specific requirements of each opportunity.
- Prepare and review the commercial and financial aspects of bids, ensuring all services and costs are accurately captured and commercially signed off.
- Engage directly with clients to clarify requirements, address queries, and manage expectations throughout the tender process.
- Track and manage risks, issues, and compliance requirements across all active bids and proposals.
- Maintain and continuously improve a library of up-to-date proposal content, templates, and standard responses to streamline the bid preparation process.
- Manage the handover of successful bids to the operations and delivery teams, ensuring full continuity of commercial and contractual information.
- Conduct post-bid reviews — both wins and losses — to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in the bid function.
- Provide regular reporting on bid pipeline, submission status, win rates, and key metrics to senior leadership.
Required qualifications and experience
- 5+ years of experience in bid management, proposals, or a similar submissions role — ideally within engineering, construction, or a related technical sector.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering high-quality, competitive tender submissions across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience reviewing and contributing to the financial and contractual aspects of bids.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and technically accurate proposal content.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and work to tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Confident coordinating inputs from a wide range of internal stakeholders — technical, commercial, and operational.
- Experience maintaining bid libraries, content templates, and documentation management systems.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across the business.
Benefits
- Competitive Salary
- Life Cover
- Pension
- Opportunity for career progression within a rapidly growing company
