Facilities Engineer – Waterford
Co-ordinate maintenance of the factory building and its surrounding premises, production plant service including preventive maintenance and upgrading of facility equipment and electrical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Vendors & Contractors: Act as the main point of contact, source quotations, oversee contract work, and ensure cleaning, site maintenance, and grounds upkeep meet agreed standards.
- Facilities Operations & Compliance: Plan and coordinate all facilities work to ensure compliance with specifications, regulatory requirements, GMP/GDP, EHS standards, FM Global, and audit expectations.
- Critical Equipment & Systems: Oversee all critical plant equipment, third-party inspections, PM schedules, and daily facility maintenance, including cleanroom AHUs, electrical systems, chillers, water/air systems, fire equipment, vacuum systems, and life-safety programs.
- Building Management Systems: Monitor cleanrooms and environmental conditions through the BMS, address any nonconformance, and ensure temperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow remain within specification.
- Quality & Investigations: Participate or lead MMCR, CAPA, PCF, NCE, and other quality investigations while maintaining accurate facilities records for internal/external audits.
- Operational Support & Improvement: Support change controls, NPIs, production ramps, and new projects while driving continuous improvement in cost, performance, utilities, and overall facilities efficiency.
- General Duties & Standards: Respond to breakdowns, manage pest control, maintain canteen/office equipment, work assigned shifts (including occasional out-of-hours), uphold safety and GMP requirements, and collaborate effectively with all site teams.
Requirements:
- Senior Trades Electrical / Mechanical essential
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline advantageous.
- 5 + years’ experience in facilities or related role essential.
- Experience of working in a medical device/pharmaceutical environment advantageous
