ALS has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Site Quality Officer to join the Quality team in Clonmel. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in quality. This role involves supporting the laboratory daily in assuring the quality of test results, you would work closely with the QA and laboratory teams to understand the testing operations and techniques. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work in a quality system based on ISO 17025 to develop skills in quality management and gain experience in areas such as auditing, document control, calibration, equipment management and other aspects of Quality management. The day to day
- Conduct daily equipment checks in the laboratory.
- Carry out analytical quality controls for the laboratory.
- Ensure document control procedures are adhered to in all areas and assist in the issue and archiving of records.
- Assist with the maintenance of equipment & training records.
- Assist with internal investigations & complaints.
- Assist in induction training of new staff.
- Help prepare for yearly external audits and customer audits.
- Act as an audit officer for internal audit programme.
- Be responsible for day-to-day administration in the QA office.
The Essentials
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Food Science) or equivalent experience/education.
- Ideal candidate must be genuinely interested in Microbiology and Quality and motivated to learn and adapt.
- Previous experience in a scientific or quality environment is essential.
- Good understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office, previous experience with LIMS would be an advantage.
