An exciting opportunity has arisen with PM Group's Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) department for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our clients growing engineering team delivering a range of industrial and infrastructure projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and execution of electrical systems from concept through to commissioning.
While candidates with water or wastewater infrastructure experience will be particularly attractive, applications are welcomed from engineers with relevant design experience gained in utilities, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food and beverage, energy, or other industrial sectors. This role is based in Kilkenny.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Produce detailed electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load calculations, and equipment specifications.
- Design LV power distribution systems, motor control centres (MCCs), control panels, and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation, and construction packages.
- Support multidisciplinary project teams throughout all project phases.
- Participate in design reviews and technical evaluations.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical support during procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Conduct site visits and surveys as required.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical design within an industrial, infrastructure, utilities, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems and industrial installations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design software.
- Understanding of relevant electrical regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Full driving licence.
