WHC Lab Group is a Biotechnology company specialising in fermentation, with deep expertise in yeast, bacteria, enzymes and innovative fermentation products and services. We are now seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to keep our daily operations running smoothly and to help shape how we scale across all of our businesses.
The Role
You'll own the smooth running of the business, from office management and supplier relationships to compliance and process improvement. You'll be the person who makes sure things get done, and done properly, as we expand into new markets and business sectors.
This is a full-time, onsite role. Access to your own vehicle is mandatory, as the site is not accessible by public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure the business complies with all relevant laws, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Onboard new suppliers while supporting rigorous quality standards for goods and services.
- Allocate staff, equipment, and materials efficiently across the business
- Manage travel (flights, hotel reservations, car hire) for our sales and Senior Leadership team.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Recommend improvements to systems, tools, and ways of working.
- Support business and international expansion efforts.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years in an operations role, ideally within an international business
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Experience managing supplier relationships and vendor onboarding
- Solid understanding of health & safety and regulatory compliance
- Proven problem-solver with a track record of improving processes
- Strong communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders across time zones
- Full clean driver's licence
