Portfolio Manager – Accounting & Advisory

Location: Tralee

Full-time, permanent | Office-based initially

The Company

A well-established accountancy and advisory practice is seeking a qualified Portfolio Manager to join its team. The role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, delivering accounting, compliance, and advisory services, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a key position within a fast-paced environment, with responsibility for overseeing financial reporting and supporting the development of junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of SME clients and regulated entities, acting as the main point of contact
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive financial and business advice
  • Review and prepare financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely delivery of client assignments
  • Liaise with internal departments, including audit, as required
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, reviewing work and providing technical guidance
  • Manage workflow within the team to meet deadlines and support overall efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services and support practice growth
  • Assist with client onboarding and proposal preparation

Requirements

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of SME clients
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance
  • Experience with regulated entities or financial services clients is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team effectively
