Senior Accounts Manager — Cork — Hybrid

Are you a qualified accountant who's at their best when leading a team and being the senior pair of eyes that signs off work before it reaches the client?

I'm hiring a Senior Accounts Manager for a well-established and growing Cork-based accountancy and consulting firm.

Why this role is different

The headline of this job is leadership and review. You'll manage a team of qualified accountants and trainees, and effectively own the quality review before client deliverables go out the door. The technical work is interesting — management accounts with a real focus on gross margin investigation, working capital, internal controls and operational improvement — but the reason this role exists is to have a senior, experienced reviewer running the team.

If you've been doing all the prep yourself and are ready to step up to leading others doing it, this is built for you.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading a team of accountants and trainees, with responsibility for their development and output quality
  • Reviewing management accounts and client-facing deliverables before sign-off
  • Investigating gross margin variances and building action plans to improve margin and reduce costs
  • Evaluating and implementing internal controls
  • Working capital management
  • Providing full financial control services to a portfolio of clients
  • Presenting financial analysis to clients and recommending operational and financial improvements

What we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience
  • Proven experience preparing full sets of accounts and reviewing the work of others
  • Comfortable being client-facing and presenting financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and a natural reviewer's eye
  • Demonstrated ability to train, supervise and develop staff
  • Excellent organisational skills, capable of working on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Relevant third-level degree
  • Sector-specific experience is an advantage but absolutely not essential — full training is provided
  • Available to start immediately is highly desirable but also not essential

About the firm

A growing Irish accountancy and consulting practice of around 50 staff, working with a national client base. Continued business growth is the reason this role exists.

What's on offer

  • Hybrid working model (after initial on-site training)
  • Free on-site parking
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Company events
  • The chance to lead a team in a firm that's genuinely growing
